Senior Communications Officer

Location: Ceduna, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Yalata, Oak Valley or Adelaide 
Employment Type: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: $94,302.00 per year plus superannuation  
Work Arrangement: This position is primarily work from home. Occasional travel across the Eyre and Far West Coast regions may be required as part of the role.

SAWCAN is seeking a Senior Communications Officer to plan, develop and deliver clear, high-quality communications across our regional network of five Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) on the Eyre and Far West Coast of South Australia.

About the role

You will work closely with SAWCAN staff and Partner ACCHOs to provide practical communications support, including:

  • Strategic communications advice
  • Content and resource development
  • Social media planning and management
  • Brand and quality assurance
  • Support for reports and major publications

This is a senior role requiring strong judgement, clear writing and the ability to work independently.

About you

You will have:

  • 3+ years experience in communications
  • Experience in the not-for-profit or community sector
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • An understanding of culturally safe communications
  • Experience working with Aboriginal organisations (desirable)
