About the role
SAWCAN is seeking an experienced and motivated Data Analyst to lead all data management, analysis and reporting functions across our regional Network.
This role will strengthen Aboriginal-led data governance and build systems that support evidence-based decision-making. You will design and maintain a regional Power BI data aggregation system, develop interactive dashboards and embed Indigenous Data Sovereignty principles into everyday practice.
Working closely with SAWCAN’s Partner Organisations, the Data Analyst will also support program reporting, evaluation and regional performance monitoring, ensuring that data is ethical, community-led and used to tell the story of our region’s strengths and priorities.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a regional Power BI data aggregation system
- Design and manage interactive dashboards and automated data pipelines
- Build consistent internal systems for program data capture and reporting
- Lead implementation of Indigenous Data Sovereignty principles
- Provide analytical and reporting support for SAWCAN programs and evaluation
- Build data literacy and support capacity development across ACCHOs
We’re seeking someone with:
- Advanced skills in Power BI, SQL and Microsoft 365 data tools
- Experience in data analytics, reporting or health informatics
- Understanding of Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Aboriginal-led governance
- Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience working collaboratively within Aboriginal organisations or community-controlled settings
